Job Title : Unix/Linux Engineer
Location: Eagan, MN
Duration: 6+ Months

 

EAD,GC AND US Citizen.

 

All Engineering team members also serve as Tier 3 backup to Application Operations. This person evaluates new technologies, analyzes issues, and resolves complex technical problems for internal customers including: Development, QA, Hosting Operations and Services. Active participant in new requirement and technology architecture planning and design discussions. Participation in a team environment is heavily relied upon, as is the ability to work independently. 

 

Responsibilities:
Use problem solving skills to resolve complex technical problems
Design and implement solutions to Development and Hosting Operations that streamline and automate standard processes and improve the overhead to support and

 

maintain infrastructure
Work with Development and other Engineering team members to architect and design infrastructure to support existing and new platforms.
Work with DCO teams to help support GRC environments.
Install and configure environments for the development,testing, and production of GRC products and also provide escalation support
Work with Security on reviewing infrastructure scans and provide resolution for Application Operations to implement
Can communicate (verbally and in written format) at high levels in an organization
Create and manage technical documentation for product installation and administration
Assist with technical documentation for product installation and administration
Organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks and projects
Researches new software tools and develops solutions to common problems
Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: BA/BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Programming, Computer Science, BCIS or related field or commensurate work related experience

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Strong LINUX / UNIX and Windows experience
Application Administration experience
Demonstrated advanced ability to troubleshoot issues, separate relevant information from non-relevant, find and implement practical solutions
Ability to automate common command line processes through scripts
Working experience with Java, Tomcat, and Apache HTTP
Working experience with LDAP (OpenLDAP and 389-DS) and SAML 2.0 a plus
Ability to multi-task and pay strong attention to details
Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
Experience with RPM, Yum or other package management systems
Programming or scripting experience in at least one programming language (Java, HTML5, .Net, Flex, ActionScript, Python, Perl, C++, Ant,Bash) a plus

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum 3 years relevant software experience, 5 years desired
Solid working experience (5+ years) in System Administration (UNIX/Linux)
Experience supporting SaaS Enterprise applications
Experienced SQL scripter

 

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication skills, verbal and written.
Excellent analytical and problem skills.
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects/clients, time and resources.
Ability to work with specific deadlines.
Effective interpersonal skills; ability to communicate at different levels based on the knowledge of the end user.
Familiarity with scripting tools and languages (perl, python, etc.)
