Title: WebSphere Portal Developer
Location: Peoria, IL
Length: 9 Months+
This position will be part of a responsible for the development of a new information center using IBM Portal 8. The successful candidate will be an innovative and creative Internet designer familiar with taxonomy design, security mechanisms, directory services, delegated content management and dynamic content rendering to assist in the construction of highly usable portal pages. Candidates will have strong knowledge and experience surfacing content from one or more publishing applications, defining page constraints and designing user friendly navigation based on basic requirements delivered by business users. This position will be responsible for the overall design and development of the GP portal solution.
Required Skills/Qualifications: Experienced in gathering business requirements and translating into technical solutions. Experienced in portal design Knowledge in Infrastructure architecture (load balancer, web server, application server, security, LDAP, firewall) Performance tuning Caching Security Scans Load test analysis Experience in Portal 8 (Page structure, Portlet to Portlet communication, Application scope session, Public render parameters, Events, Themes and Skins) J2EE, JSP, Spring framework, Hibernate, Struts, JSF, JDBC, Servlets, JAX, AJAX, JSTL, RMI, EJB, J2EE design patterns, HTML, XML, Javascript, JQuery JSR168, 286 Portlet, Portlet API Experience developing and calling web services IBM WebSphere 8 Good Communication Skills both written and oral Great Analytical Skills Great Problem Solving Skills Good Interpersonal Skills
College Degree 8-10 years or relevant work experience Consultative mind set and approach Team player
Desired Skills/Qualifications: MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, DB2, Teradata Enterprise Content Management principles Knowledge of procurement applications and data sources Possibility to extend after 9 months.
Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures. Understanding of IS standards such as SDLC, ITIL, PMLC and QA/Test - preferred. Understanding of the principles, techniques, and methodologies of SDLC, technical project management, quality management, change, and problem management - preferred Understanding of project management principles - preferred.
