Essential Job Functions:
Monitor resource usage for physical servers, application servers, or databases.
Planning and managing deliverable for any of the following areas: performance diagnostic, capacity planning, performance architecture design, performance tuning, performance monitoring, or software development.
Work with 'Service Owners' to optimize the configuration of clients, servers, and networking equipment to enable performance testing across the enterprise.
Debug issues within the test environment
Distill volumes of data, analyzes performance results, and diagnoses performance problems.
Clearly characterize system performance to stakeholders.
Conduct performance monitoring and integrated operational processes.
Drive performance test planning, setup, and execution.
Conduct performance test scripting and test data management.
Responsible for capacity estimating, modeling, or planning
Work with cross functional software development teams to plan for and manage demand from a capacity and infrastructure perspective
Conduct application and architecture code profiling.
Conduct Infrastructure and application performance tuning
Responsible for application development, bug fixes, and re-factoring with hands-on language experience
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

8+ years of software product development and delivery experience.
2 + years of performance engineer experience.
Ability to work collaboratively in a small, cross-functional team.
Ability to practice modern development techniques (TDD, scrum, pair programming, stories, kanban, etc.).
Proven ability to write and maintain quality loads of unit tests.
Proven experience in designing and writing code.
Continued interest and internal motivation to constantly learn/engage with new technologies and programming techniques.
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
Strong customer interaction skills.
Ability to travel independently.
Prior experience with a majority of the following technologies:
Testing Tools: Loadrunner (Java Scripting within Loadrunner)
Java and J2EE technologies
UNIX (Perl & Shell) Scripting
Test Management - Quality Center
Web-based applications
Test-driven development (TDD)
Web services (e.g., WSDL, SOAP, XML, REST, Axis, XFire, Glassfish)
ORM technologies (e.g., Hibernate, JPA, JDO, HQL, XQuery, XPath)
Knowledge of commercial profiling tools such as JProfiler and YourKit
Experience with multiple database platforms, including Oracle and SQL Server
Experience tuning with multi-byte datasets
