خود ہی پہلے تو سمندر میں تھا کودا کوئی

اور اب ڈھونڈھتا پھرتا ہے وہ تنکا کوئی

ایسوں ایسوں میں بھی دیکھی ہے نزاکت ہم نے
حسن سے جنکا نہیں دور کا رشتہ کوئی
 
ہم تری بزم سے چپ چاپ چلے جائینگے
اب خدارا نہ کھڑا کرنا تماشا کوئی

ایک بس تیری تمنا تھی جو کر بیٹھے تھے
چاہ کر بھی نہیں اب ہوتی تمنا کوئی

محفل_غم ہے خوشی دور کھڑی روتی ہے
اور محفل میں نہیں میرے علاوہ کوئی
 
ان کی فطرت میں سیاست کی سی خود غرضی ہے
ہونے دو ہوتا اگر ہے کہیں رسوا کوئی

تیری آنکھوں کی چمک سے ہے یہ ظاہر جاوید
ہو گیا ہے تجھے آنکھوں کا اشارہ کوئی
