This role has some DBA components, but is not a DBA.

 

 

 This position will provide database and Extract, Translate and Load (ETL) support to Development DBA and Reporting teams.

Job responsibilities include all tasks associated with MS SQL database development while acting as a SQL Server Developer, Database Administrator, Data Warehouse Architect, and ETL developer.

The ideal candidates will have strong technical background and forward thinking approach to architecting a denormalized MS SQL data warehouse that is effective in retrieving e data from existing Excel spreadsheets, other SQL database and PostGres databases.  Also needed is very strong communication and organizational skills coupled with the ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast paced environment.

 

Key Qualifying Factors: 

- 5+ years SQL Server 2005 and 2008 programming (along with some database administration)

- Data Warehouse design and development experience
- Provide database programming support and troubleshooting to multiple IT projects
- Must have strong experience Developing SQL Server Integration Services (i.e., SSIS) packages

- Must have strong experience designing star schemas using ERwin

- SQL programming, T-SQL, triggers, and stored procedures
- Building/maintaining SQL Server database replications
- Enhancing SQL Server database performance (performance enhancements)
