Position: Java Developer
Duration: 6 Months+
Location: NYC, NY
Position Description
Our Client is seeking an experienced Java developer to work on a high-performance fixed-income trading solution. The application provides traders with a sophisticated suite of pricing and analysis functions, allowing them to manage a large number of positions and execute high volumes of trades across numerous electronic trading venues.
The environment is fast-paced and business-focused. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of programming experience, good analytical and communication skills, and some knowledge of fixed income products. Familiarity with event-driven systems, trading applications, and ECN trading platforms are a plus.
Skills Required
- Strong Java and web-service skills
- Experience with event-processing systems and multi-threaded programming
- Experience with high-performance, low-latency systems
- Database experience; DB2 a plus
- 5+ years experience in systems development
Skills Desired
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Experience with open source frameworks including Hibernate and Spring
- Experience with market data feeds or ECN connectivity
- Knowledge of fixed income products
