Location: West Des Moines, IA
Duration: 6+ months
Rate: market
Description:

• High skill level in MS Excel 2007

• High skill level in MS PPT 2007

• High skill level in MS Visio

• High skill level in MS Project

• Prior experience managing budgets in $15-$35 MM range

• Past Project Management experience (including updating MS Project)

• Past experience creating and updating PPT decks for the purpose of communicating and educating project stakeholders

• Ability to maneuver in fast paced environment with limited direction

• Ability to manage multiple, high priority deadlines

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

• Excellent facilitation and follow up abilities

• Excellent relationship building skills

• Takes the initiative

• Drives tasks to completion

• Takes pride in doing a good job and having the team be successful

 

PURPOSE:

* Works at the direction of the IT Program Office and Company Program Office to improve the processes used to manage a portfolio of projects.

This includes:

     ? Forecasting future project costs and resource needs.

     ? Tracking and reporting current project costs, issues, risks, and major decisions.

     ? Tracking and reporting project returns? Tracking and reporting other IT measures

* Provide detailed support for one or more Project Managers.

This includes:

? Creation and administration of work breakdown structures and project plans

? Management and reporting of project budgets? Management of issue logs and action Items

? Assure that proper project documentation is completed

? Recording and issuing of meeting minutes.

 

KEY OUTPUTS:

* Project plans

* Action items

* Meeting minutes

* Project documentation

* Project analysis

* Project reports

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelors degree in business or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

EXPERIENCE:

* Two (2) to four (4) years of project experience.

* Experience using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, etc.)

* Previous experience in 3rd party reporting tools required.

* Experience in the life insurance and annuity businesses would be helpful.
