80% unix and 20% Windows

 

Working in Roseville, if not there then Tempe.

 

Top 3 qualities/requirements to best fit this position:

 

1) Systems Administrator supporting both 80% UNIX/Linux and 20% WINDOWS 2k3, 2k8 with above average Hardware and Operating systems troubleshooting and support skills. SOLARIS, HPUX, a little bit of all the unix flavors NOT JUST ONE>

 

2) Some Middleware support experience: WebLogic, 8 &10x, WebSphere. Know enough to identify if the issue in the system is the application server. If not the network operating system application then might be the application server.

 

3) Unrestricted schedule. Able to work any assigned shift and on-call status as may be required.

Below is the job description from the hiring manager: Wells Fargo's Wholesale & International Service Delivery (WISD) is seeking an intermediate to advanced combination UNIX/Windows Systems Administrator with background in middleware support, hardware and OS support.

•Successful candidate will be responsible for providing UNIX/Windows Hardware, Operating System, middleware support, and application support in a fast paced environment.

•Job duties include but are not limited to responding to incidents via phone, monitoring alarms, service restoration, root cause analysis, and documentation. Must have Triage, Remedy Ticketing

•Candidate must have an unrestricted schedule and be able to work any assigned 40 hour shift any time of the week, as well as participate in a 24 on-call rotation as needed which may include
  weekends or as business needs may require without restriction.

•Candidate must possess solid analytical, technical, written and oral communication skills as well as personal and interpersonal skills.  Solid personal and professional ethics is a must.

 

Key Responsibilities

•The ability to coordinate with multiple groups to resolve complex issues: Understand multi-tier, multiple platform environments, and System administration. Good verbal and written communication
  skills with particular emphasis on incident management. Candidate should be familiar with Service Level Agreements/Operational Level Agreements and be able to handle multiple incidents and
  prioritize between them. Must be able to work in a high pressure/visibility environment.

•Administration of both the UNIX/Linux and WINDOWS environments including validating environmental health, patch level and access control issues.

•Administration of Middleware Applications to include WebLogic and WebSphere.

•The individual will also research, analyze and incorporate emerging technologies into the UNIX/WINDOWS environments for access management, patching and (possibly) source control and
  deployment.

•Versatility is a key measure to the success of this position. Demonstrable versatility and ability with various flavors of UNIX/Linux, WINDOWS, WEBLOGIC and WEBSPHERE.

 

Skill Requirements

•4+ years experience in an Enterprise Production Support Environment.

•4+ years of experience administering, monitoring and managing Solaris (8/9/10), SUSE Linux (9) and Redhat Linux, MS Windows 2000, 03, & 08 environments. Should be comfortable with the internals
  of several other distributions.

•Experience with high-availability and Disaster-Recovery strategies using technologies such as VERITAS Cluster Services, SRDF, and Timefinder/BCVs.

•Demonstrable experience automating activities using Perl, Python, jython, WLST and Shell scripting is a necessity.

•2+ years of Weblogic/WebSphere administration

•2+ years of Sun One/iPlanet web server administration

•Experience with VMware ESX Server Architecture as well as Virtual Center

•Experience with Remedy Pac2000

•Demonstrable experience with WebMethods, HPUX, AIX, NDM, MQ, Apache, and SunOne.

•Experience with LDAP, AD, IIS and Windows based scripting (vbscript or powershell)

•Experience with HPSA, HPOO, and OpsWare is a plus

•Demonstrable skills writing best-practice documentation and solution documents are a necessity.

•Disk space administration using VERITAS Volume Mgr

•Code Migration using Sun N1SPS/Center Run/Ant Hill Pro

•Demonstrable skills in troubleshoot basic hardware problems on HP, SUN, or IBM Platforms, as well as, Dell, HP,  and  Egenera blade infrastructures

•Familiarity with Site Minder, AutoSys, NDM, and Net Backup are a plus

•Performance monitoring and tuning using  tools such as  HP Open View, Introscope, as well as built in Middleware and  OS commands

•ITIL knowledge or certification

•Demonstrable organizational skills such as managing time, meetings and verbal communication skills are a must.
