Sr. Voice Engineer / Avaya Consultant
Position is located in Santa Clara, CA

1 year. 

 

Job Purpose:
Provide consultative design, implementation, project management, and operational services for Avaya systems throughout the global enterprise.
Duties:
• Consult with internal customers to design telephony solutions that meet their business requirements and schedules.
• Develop project plans for assigned work and manage those projects to satisfactory completion within all McAfee policies and processes.
• Develop and implement solutions both on the Avaya phone systems and other assigned adjunct technologies such as Avaya CMS, Netcall QueueBuster, Avaya Modular messaging, etc. in support of projects, requests, and incidents.
• Develop and implement standards for phone/ACD systems implementation, operation, documentation, changes.
• Document all configuration and solution designs according to defined standards.
• Interface with external maintenance, service, and outsourcing vendors.
• Respond to requests and incidents in a timely fashion and resolve them according to established service standards.
• Provide recommendations for process and technology improvements to the IT organization and the customer organization.
• Participate and/or lead cross functional project teams.
Skills/Qualifications:
• Able to anticipate change and redirect efforts to minimize its impact.
• Able to complete work without significant direction
• Able to develop resolutions to complex problems that require frequent use of creativity
• Able to use judgment within broadly defined policies and practices
Expert skills in the following:
• Avaya Communications Manager version 5 and above in both TDM and IP configurations
• Avaya distributed Communications Manager architecture
• Avaya CMS
• Avaya ACD with Skills Based Routing, vector programming
• Business Requirements gathering, analysis, and solution development
• Trouble-shooting and service restoral
Proficient in the following:
• Project Management and coordination
• Vendor management and coordination
• Avaya legacy systems such as Definity, Proligic, IP Office, etc.
• International implementations/operations of telephony/ACD systems.
• ITIL process frameworks
• AT&T toll-free products and their usage, ordering, implementation, and management
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Communication abilities to executive, operational, and technical personnel in both the IT and customer organizations
Advantageous skills:
• AT&T RouteIt knowledge and expertise
• Computer Telephony application integration
• SIP based telephony and trunking technologies
• H.320 and SIP based video conferencing
