Location   :   Syracuse, NY

We are currently looking for a contractor for a 6 month contract with possibility of extension or going perm.
The senior .NET developer will be a key member of the IT team. Development duties include designing, implementing, and supporting data-centric applications developed primarily in the Microsoft .NET suite of tools. Architectural duties include serving as a technical resource on the architecture team that is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and support of the company software architecture.

 

Primary Duties
,* Design, develop and maintain business systems using the .NET development stack (.NET FW 4.0, C#, ASP.NET, SQL 2008 R2)
,* Understand complex client business requirements and translate into efficient, maintainable technical solutions
,* Support and troubleshoot production issues
,* Provide best practice guidance in all aspects of software design, structure, and usage and work with the development team on implementation.
,* Understand, adhere to, and help shape software development standards using appropriate methodologies (Agile, waterfall, etc.).
,* Analyze and maintain corporate application integrity, reliability, and security.
,* Participate in software quality assurance activities, including code reviews, and unit, system, integration, regression, and performance testing.
,* Participate in the application/infrastructure change control process.

 

Other Responsibilities
,* Effectively communicate project issues with relevant parties and perform well within a team oriented environment.
,* Support IT/Business Systems vision, missions, goals and strategies.
,* Learn user functions, business processes, and organizational roles as required.
,* Guide development to understand, advise and meet changing client and technology needs.
,* Maintain up-to-date knowledge with current and emerging database technologies.

 

Requirements
,* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience or specialized training) in Computer Science or related field
,* 6+ years of experience using C#, VB, ASP.NET and .NET framework
,* SharePoint or Equivalent Portal experience (Dot Net Nuke, etc.)
,* Web Service development and XML, WCF
,* MS SQL Server/Transact SQL, query tuning, stored procedure development
,* 3+ years of experience using version control system, e.g. Microsoft Team Foundation Server
,* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
,* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
,* Ability to work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment.
