Essential Job Functions:

• Participates in development & maintenance of software quality assurance plans for certification of projects
• Work with programmers, project managers and business team to develop test plans and test cases for programs
• Preparation and execution of test cases for Quality Assurance certification of projects
• Prepare testing status reports for review with project team.
• Participate in requirements reviews & technical design reviews to ensure user requirements are met.
• Implement, maintain and run automated scripts using Mercury Interactive Tools (QTP & LoadRunner) for performance and regression testing.
• Handle defect management using Mercury's Quality center product.
• Analyze testing & report results, advise & recommend changes as necessary.

• Work with Project Managers and Business Development Department to ensure user requirements are met
• Review software requirements for completeness, testability, and adherence to standards

• Ensure projects presented for Quality Assurance (QA) review contain properly documented test plans & follow defined methodology.
• Assist project manager in development of project plans including time/cost estimates and deliverable dates.
• Provides guidance and direction to project team, ensuring proper QA procedures and practices are implemented.
• Maintain a current knowledge of test plan development and software quality assurance methods
Education/Training: Bachelors or advanced degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Mathematics or Engineering is required.
Amt of Experience-Based Knowledge Skills: Minimum 4 years work experience in a software quality assurance field or in a software development related field.
Technology Skill Set: He/she must be a technologically savvy knowledge worker who seeks out technology solutions to business challenges. Specific technology knowledge and experience needed to produce the desired outcomes include the following:
Knowledge of quality assurance principles, and the software development process. Knowledge of testing techniques and development processes for Web applications. Knowledge of automated testing tools desireable. Knowledge of project lifecycle and management skills.
Must possess proficiency in English in order to convey technical problems to non-technical personnel.
Proficiency in English needed for occasional presentations necessary to colleagues/ team for test strategy reviews.
Must be proficient in English language writing in order to document test strategies and plans.
Must be proficient in English reading skills not only for communicaion purposes but also to read technical documents.
None required, but proficiency in a foreign language such as Mandarin, Hindi or Spanish is desirable.
Contacts are primarily interdepartment colleagues, co-workers and managers for review of test strategies and plans as well as review of issues found. Occasional interaction with external department staff required. Must have the ability to deal effectively with people in contentious situations. Daily interaction with development staff and other QA team members.
This position requires the ability to:
Analyze system requirements to determine testabilty;
Analyze required specifications to determine if adequately or inadequately defined.
Reconcile test results and the ability to determine of software meets defined requirements;
Take full responsibility for problem investigation through resolution, including problem reporting to management;
Work independently to complete work assignments according to schedule.
