Job Title: Linux/Unix Admin

Location: Worecester, MA

Duration: 6 Months+

Skills:

·         Should have 5+ years of experience as UNIX System Administrator in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux, Fedora, Ubuntu, CentOS, IBM-AIX, Solaris and HP-UX.

·         Planning, Installation, Configuration, Maintenance and Administration of Linux RedHat, Unix, Solaris day to day L3 level system admin tasks.

·         Setting up printers / remote queues / Info-print management, including system tuning, security, backup, recovery and upgrades of Linux, Unix and Solaris systems.

·         Installation of patches, Security fixes, packages on Linux, Unix and Solaris servers.

·         Worked on Group/User administration, Startup & Shutdown Scripts, Crontabs, File System Maintenance, Backup Scripts and Automation.

·         Experience in working with VMware ESX, GSX servers for enterprise level virtualization.

·         Expertise in configuring Kickstart and Jumpstart Installation Methods.

·         Experience in installing, updating packages in Red Hat Linux servers using RPM's and YUM repositories.

·         Experience in using TPM emulator in Linux servers.

·         Experience in configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting various file systems like Ext 3, Ext 2, UFS, NFS and JFS.

·         Should have worked on ILO/HMC for remote access of servers on Linux/AIX respectively

·         Expertise in managing the Run jobs that needs to be run periodically in the Datacenter environment.

·         Writing shell and Perl scripts for System administration and updating them in the Scheduler / Cron.

·         Hands on experience in providing first level of Support to Oracle databases, Network routers, and Web    applications and  creating the run book to solve the repetitive problems on UNIX environment

·         Administered shell interfaces, groups/user accounts, login scripts, and kernel patches & updates.

·         Hands on experience in Red Hat Linux Performance Monitoring tools using vmstat, iostat, prstat, mpstat, sar & top.

·         Good communication skills, working without supervision, working in team environment.

·         Must have good communication skills, can lead a team and handle customer escalations for Linux/Unix tower.
