Position Java UI Developer

Location: NJ (Locals or nearby)

Duration: 6+ months

Locals or nearby

Must have Financial exp.

 

Responsible for the design, development, unit and integration testing of several rich web user interface application screens driven by SOAP-based web services

 

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline

• Experience in the following: conceiving, communicating, and documenting elegant, responsive, and fault-tolerant technical

architectures; working with JavaScript to produce highly-interactive application user interfaces; communicating from the browser to the

server with JSON; working in a SOA-based environment

• Demonstrated experience in a professional environment conducting web development including HTML and JavaScript

 

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent oral and written communication abilities

• Ability to write well-documented and maintainable code

• Thorough knowledge of advanced Java, JavaScript, JSON, HTML5, and CSS3

• Experience with JavaScript UI libraries: Sencha Ext JS experience preferred; otherwise competitors jQuery, Dojo, Bootstrap, Mootools, or

others

• Experience preferred with connecting to SOAP-based web services as data sources and working in SOA environments

• Knowledge of XML and XSLT preferred

• Knowledge of Unix and IBM WebSphere preferred

 

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interacts with clients and UX experts to collect application requirements

• Negotiates functional requirements of the web services with other IT teams

• Thoroughly adheres design and development to Functional Specifications and raises questions about ambiguity immediately

• Makes requested additions and changes to design documentation

• Designs, develops, and thoroughly tests software, and fixes defects where necessary

• Builds web screens that match the UX experts' specific style guidelines

• Reviews and provides feedback on Quality Assurance team's test cases

• Provides documentation and knowledge transfer
