Title: Network Engineer
Location: East Peoria, IL
Length: 6 Months+
Required: - 5+ years of experience in wireless architecture, design, and implementation, including both indoor and outdoor elements. Relevant experience could include governmental, industrial, warehouse, and medical areas. - Advanced Cisco Router/Switch certification and Cisco Wireless Design certification (CCNP) or equivalent from other standards-based authorities such as CWNP. -5+ years of Experience with Cisco wireless gear, especially LWAPP/controller experience. - Experience designing robust 5 Ghz networks that are also capable of fully support legacy factory 2.4 Ghz devices. - Experience architecting an enterprise-scaled WCS/NCS solution for wireless management and troubleshooting support. - Experience configuring wireless networks for specific legacy 2.4 Ghz devices, including Honeywell/LXE handheld scanners - Customer-facing experience including the capability to communicate appropriately to an audience. - Experience working with 3rd-party wireless survey providers, communicating requirements, and ensure appropriate survey results. Desired: - CCNA certification - Experience architecting Mobility Service Engines (MSE) for wireless location services and troubleshooting - Experience shifting authentication methods to certificate-based methods, using Cisco's Identity Services Engine (ISE) platform.
Summary: Maintain vendor relationships or project management processes, including project goals, deadlines, metrics and budget.
Education/Experience: University degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. Advanced degree preferred. Previous IT experience required. Skills and Competencies: Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage oneYs time. Knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of drawings and models. Knowledge of computer software, such as Visual Basic, Java, SQL, etc.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Gather requirements from business units and translate those to programmers and developers. Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs. Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation. Interview or survey workers, observe job performance or perform the job to determine what information is processed and how it is processed. Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared. Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles. Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve work flow.
