Job Description:

• Looking for senior candidates with a Min of 8+ yrs IT
• QA engineering role with white box testing and some development exp is required

Responsibilities:

• Understand the User Needs.
• Use knowledge of the product and the development work plan to determine resources and test cases required to validate quality.
• Review the development plan for potential quality issues.
• Work with the team to complete testing in a timely manner.
• Execute tests and track defects to closure.
• Support developers in finding defect root causes (good defect exploration plus direct support).
• Be responsible to the QA Lead and for the quality of the release.
• Maintain QA artifacts to achieve team goals.
• Take ownership of testing scope and defect closure to ensure high quality releases.

Required Skills:

• Break a user need down into test scenarios.
• Ask good clarifying business questions to understand scope.
• Ask good clarifying technical questions to understand implementation.
• Understand risks of development options.
• Write and execute good tests.
• Perform good experiments around defects to identify the exact trigger.
• Write SQL to verify results against the database.
• Accurately characterize the quality of the software under test.
• Good with spoken and written English.
• Able to write effective test cases and defects.
• Understanding of non-functional testing.

Valued Skills:

• Able to coach or mentor other QA Engineers in test writing, defect writing, and application of quality principles.
• Experience performing non-functional tests.
• Able to distinguish Quality Assurance from Quality Control.
• Ability to report code quality and test status using metrics.
