POSITION REQUISITION
ANALYST/PROGRAMMER - CAREER
INFRASTRUCTURE MIDDLEWARE ANALYST
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1.Install, configure, enhance and troubleshoot middleware components, including LDAP, identity management, user account provisioning. Write programs and scripts using Java, SQL and shell scripts. Provide directory services planning, design, implementation and maintenance; support for interoperability of systems and applications; support for single sign-on system using LDAP and provisioning tools. Ensure 24x7 availability of systems
2.Design and implement multi-vendor and multi-protocol middleware support for databases and applications. Ensure secure communications. Provide program interface solutions to accommodate enterprise applications. Provide expert advice and consultation on middleware, application interface, programming, scripting and problem resolution. Participate in projects involving multiple technical teams for new applications and programs.
3.Provide support for problem resolution from multiple facets of technology involving network, web, database, systems, and applications. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems including components of hardware, software, systems, and programs. Provide resolution for large complex problems. Resolve cross-platform issues, including intermittent and/or communication problems. Work with DoIT units to identify and resolve issues. Work closely with vendors to isolate and resolve issues.
4.Provide advice and consultation for technology applications, service improvements, and strategic planning. Assist internal DoIT staff, colleges and departments with middleware and directory implementation. Design and implement middleware and directory solutions to incorporate departmental computing needs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Minimum seven years in computer programming-related fields with progressively increasing responsibilities. Minimum three years experience in middleware implementation, support, development and troubleshooting. Demonstrated ability to program, debug, develop and support middleware applications. Strong working knowledge of Tivoli Access Manager, Tivoli Identity Manager, IBM Directory Integrator, Java, Apache Web server, WebSphere, SQL and Unix shell scripts. Demonstrated knowledge in LDAP, single sign-on, authentication, user account provisioning. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
