Designation	IT Architect - Storage
Job Description	This is a Tier 1 storage architect requirement. Tier 1 is largely defined as high performance storage solutions serving transaction oriented workloads for compute environments. This person would work across the Enterprise Architecture stack, and will architect, design, and document the tier 1 data storage solution. This would include a combination of various technologies including virtual machine hypervisors (KVM, VMWare, pSeries) and their use of block storage, data redundancy techniques, and working knowledge of key disk storage architectures: SVC, XIV, V7000, and DS8000. Additional knowledge and best practices around deploying large scale SAN environments is a definite plus as is use of automation products such as TPC and VMControl. This person would work closely with other architects for integrating tier-1 data storage into the overall Enterprise Architecture offerings and with the data resiliency team to insure data is properly protected. Additionally the person would need to find innovative ways to continually reduce the overall cost of the offering which includes hardware, software, and operation of the system. The candidate would also interact with the IT Infrastructure management team to automate the tier-1 storage functions and to expose the proper level of function to the cloud customer.
Desired Profile	The candidate should have well over 6 years of in-depth experience in the storage area   # Desired Candidate Experience At least 2 years experience in Large Scale Storage solutions At least 2 years experience in NAS Protocols and associated networking skills At least 2 years experience in Web API (RESTful) capabilities along with web service applications At least 2 years experience in Knowledge of storage models and technologies from Storage Leaders – EMC, Netapp, IBM etc. At least 2 years experience in Data replication and protection At least 2 years experience in File System operations (GPFS, Linux, AIX, Windows, SONAS) At least 2 years experience in Storage topology (SAN, direct attach, iSCSI, network attached storage) At least 2 years experience in HA Architectures At least 2 years experience in Fixed content storage capabilities At least 2 years experience in Data immutability knowledge for archival applications
