Description:
Review existing installations – identify gaps and opportunities
Golden Gate Replication Standards
Augment and Finalize standards document
Additional areas of standardization that need to be determined
GoldenGate process configuration
How many extracts, pumps, replicats? Options?
Naming conventions for processes
GoldenGate version – what should we be rolling out now?
11.x (Oracle, eventually DB2)
10.x (DB2)
Monitoring – same scripts and approach everywhere
Exception Handling – same approach documented and used everywhere
Tuning parameters
Minimize latency option
Minimize host impact option
CRS management of GG processes
Implement standards on all existing GG implementationsMonitoring
Review existing monitor implementations
Augment and write new monitors that experience indicates have been helpful.

 

Document standards:
Implement standards on all existing GG implementations.
Technical review of GoldenGate Director – feasibility and usefulness
Exception and Conflict handling
Review existing handler implementations
Identify handler approach that is functional and most easily maintained
If appropriate develop scripts to generate handlers.
If appropriate develop scripts to audit installations for conformance to handler standards. (Something we can run at the end of each schema

change cycle to make sure we're in good shape)

 

Document standards:
Implement standards on all existing GG implementations
Managing GoldenGate processes through CRS
Define and document a standard approach
Implement standards on all existing GG implementations.
Tech Talks for the DBA teams
Review GG Standards – Q&A on the details. Could be multiple sessions on the various major areas of standardization.
General GG Education for the team
Streams to GoldenGate migration / cutover process definition and testing.
(PSTS CPS DBA) – Augment existing Build Process to incorporate standards so we build all new implementations using the standards.
Incorporate as much as we can into Server and Database build scripts.
Update existing documentation to include GG steps, or at least link out to them.
